About the Authors
Dr. Keith E. Stuart and Barbara Phillips Stuart have lived in Villa Hills, Kentucky for twenty-six years. Before moving to Kentucky, Keith was a far-westerner who has lived in Washington, Oregon, California, and Arizona. He holds a master’s degree in speech pathology and a doctorate in counseling psychology.
Barbara was born and raised in Cincinnati and lived in Anderson Township before moving to Arizona where she became a newspaper columnist for six years.
Seven years ago, the couple began writing novels. Their mutual love of historical fiction proved the perfect genre for their six-book saga that details ten generations of the fictional McDonald family whose roots run deep in the Highlands of Scotland. The lives of the fictional characters are intertwined with actual historic events and the real life people associated with them. Currently, four of the books are published while the fifth book should be ready for publication in 2008.
In addition, Barbara has published Rainstorms and Rainbows, a collection of humorous vignettes taken from her newspaper columns that centered on her children and later, her grandchildren. 44 Points is Keith’s autobiography of his wartime experiences in Korea during 1952-53.

BANNERS OF HONOR: In 1692 on a wintry snowy morning in the highlands of Scotland, young Betsy Stewart barely escapes the village of Glencoe just before King William orders the massacre of the MacDonald clan. The events surrounding Glencoe and a terrifying Royal Coach accident that follows will haunt her throughout her life. Someone knows her secret and will not stop stalking her until he gets revenge. This is a story about honor and loyalty and a couple whose love surmounts all of life’s unexpected turns.
BANNERS OF LIBERTY: Bonnie Prince Charlie’s disastrous rebellion on Scotland’s Culloden Moor in 1746 ended with young Kevin MacDonald being labeled a traitor. With the help of his wealthy parents, he makes his way to Colonial Virginia and settles west of Richmond on a bluff high above the James River. The story follows his life and the lives of his two sons Ryan and Blake. Later, Blake’s only son Logan enjoys an idyllic life on the plantation until war again comes to the new country in 1812. Years later, his son Dougal is forced to leave Virginia and begin a new chapter in the saga of the McDonald family in Kentucky. Dougal’s plan to return to Virginia is altered forever when he receives a letter filled with tragedy.

A GOOD RUN: Life in the United States following the Civil War was a tumultuous time for both Union and Confederate sympathizers alike. In this captivating historical novel, twenty-year old Private Joseph McDonald is left desolate. His home has been destroyed, and his family is gone. He moves west to Fort Smith, Arkansas to begin a new life. Armed only with his unwavering integrity and strong work ethic, Joseph battles ruthless river pirates and champions the Cherokee Indian cause. When a secret from his past surfaces, Joseph’s life is forever changed. Above all, Joseph remains a patriot who rises to the hope and dreams of a new America built on a belief that all men are created equal.

BANNERS IN THE WIND: The McDonald series continues with the story of Josetta Jamison. At first adversaries, Josetta and her cousin, Seth McDonald, grow beyond their differences and form a bond that deepens throughout their youth and into young adulthood. Success and tragedy parallel the young couples’ lives and, after years of separation, it seems their paths will never cross again. Fate intervenes in a way neither of them would have ever expected.
